Wish the pool was heated. We asked. For the price it really should be. Also would have a few more options on the menu that you can order by the pool or for room service. Otherwise we really enjoyed the stay! Staff was great. Room was great. Also, my husband called them to tell them it was our anniversary, asking if they could do something special. It wasn’t remembered at check-in, until we mentioned it ourselves.

Exceptional dinner at Moxi. The food, service and atmosphere was a 10! Heavy rain at end of evening made it difficult to get an uber or taxi. During our wait, Axle at the front desk of the hotel was a most excellent and pleasant host. Chatting about San Miguel, places not to miss made the time pass with ease.

Great little hotel with 30 something rooms spread over a few buildings. Interiors are well designed and light. Bed comfortable. Location is unbeatable, steps from Parque Juarez and a few blocks from the Jardin.

Beautiful Hotel on Aldama Street just a stroll away from the central plaza; great location! The bedroom was very nicely decorated, comfy bedding, great bathroom products, superb towels. The whole hotel has terrific design. Small pool area but nice. They could definitely climatize it, water was very cold. I'd also would have liked a bathroom near the pool. Bar serves excellent drinks but is mostly empty, perhaps because drinks are small and overpriced. Restaurant is good but on pricey side. Continental breakfast was included and was a mixed bag. On the one hand it was "free", on the other hand it was always the same: choice of drink, plate of fruit with granola and yogurt, juice (very good), and toast. The bread was very poor quality, absolutely lacking in density and crust, the espresso drinks were extremely weak and watery, almost as if they were made with pods (bad bread and coffee really surprised me for one of the premier stays in SMA). At the restaurant they have a large round table that is always empty. It seems they should run a continental buffet with better coffee and pastries. The spa was good but small. It lacks a common relaxation area. The Hammam is just a small steam room for one person, with a makeshift massage table to lay down on. If there's two people, and you need to sit, it's hard to have your feet dangle for 30 minutes. The massages were very good. The service was very good. I had an upset stomach and they went to the pharmacy to buy medication for me; they also made chicken soup for me off menu. Overall positive stay, could use a few tweaks.

We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Matilda! The service was beyond incredible — the best we’ve ever experienced, and we travel often! Gustavo, Carlos and the entire concierge staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. They genuinely cared about enhancing our experience in San Miguel. Our room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect — on a quiet, lovely street with quick proximity to the square, park and restaurants. We’d return to Hotel Matilda in a heartbeat! Highly, highly recommend!

The location of this hotel can't be beat. The bed is extremely comfortable. If you stay in the main building, be aware that the rooms can be a bit noisy in the morning. Would be great that every room had a bathtub.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with immaculate rooms. The location is perfect for easily getting to many of the main attractions in San Miguel De Allende. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very helpful. They gave us a number of recommendations and helped us set up dinner reservations at a couple of other restaurants. As a "boutique" hotel there are not a huge number of rooms (I believe 32) so it has a very intimate feel. Great hotel for your stay in SMA.

I stayed 4 nights at Hotel Matilda and it definitely is at the top of my list of favorite hotels (and it's under the Marriott brand of which I am a member, etc). Beautiful, not too big, food was good, though a change in menu or special might be nice. After a few meals there, it got boring, but that's OK! The point is to LEAVE the hotel and go enjoy the town - which we did! Anyway, it's really sweet and the staff is lovely. I highly recommend it and I'm reluctantly to say so because I don't want the secret to get out. :)
